To Everyone Unknown
03:28

I like watching people walking and wondering where they're going
To meet someone they know where a friendship will be growing
Or maybe they're just leaving and home is where they're heading
Maybe somewhere alone to everyone unknown
Everybody has an origin a back story from where you begin
With strands that we can sometimes share and threads that seem to lead somewhere
And sometimes they may intertwine if only for the shortest time
The after effects could fade away or the memories can stay
I like hearing people talking and wondering what they're meaning
What are they insinuating and which way are they leaning
Or maybe it's all an effect to cover up silent air
Silence you could own to everyone unknown
Everybody has an origin a back story from where you begin
With strands that we can sometimes share and threads that seem to lead somewhere
And sometimes they may intertwine if only for the shortest time
The after effects could fade away or the memories can stay
I hate to hear you crying when you could be laughing
When affection you are craving is leaving you half starving
Outside there is someone a friend you can look upon
Your true self can be shown to everyone unknown
Everybody has an origin a back story from where you begin
With strands that we can sometimes share and threads that seem to lead somewhere
And sometimes they may intertwine if only for the shortest time
The after effects could fade away or the memories can stay

Turn

Who do you turn to?
When the floor gives way to a hole you fall into
Is there a hand to pick you up?
Help you climb back to the top
Where do you turn to?
Is there a place so safe that is waiting for you?
Is there a hand for yours to hold?
To protect you from the cold
How thoughts can turn to you
From those you hardly knew
And they lift you up from the bottom
When they tell you you were never forgotten
What have I turned to?
A shadow trace I no longer relate to
In the hedgerows of a maze
Where the rain pours down for days
Where do I turn to?
On a different path to one I set my mind to
At an age that overtakes
Every signpost dreaming makes
How thoughts can turn to you
From those you hardly knew
And they lift you up from the bottom
When they tell you you were never forgotten
